BipTown community rules

BipTown is where members talk about what they are learning. These rules cover what members may post, how to report a post, and what CryptoBipto may do when a rule is broken.

What BipTown is for

BipTown is where members talk about what they are learning. It comes with a membership, in the web app and in the iPhone app.

A post is written by the member who posts it. CryptoBipto does not endorse any coin, exchange or service that a post mentions, and a post is not a recommendation from CryptoBipto.

These rules apply to every post, every reply and every live chat message.

Claims, sources and opinions

When you state a fact, add the original source. When you give an opinion, say that it is an opinion.

Scams and fraud

Do not post anything meant to get money, crypto or account access from another member. Examples are a giveaway that asks for a payment first, an offer to return more than someone sends, a message that pretends to be support, and a link to a site that copies a real one.

Do not ask any member for a seed phrase, a private key or a password. CryptoBipto never asks for a seed phrase or a private key, and the Security page says what to do if a message claims otherwise.

Impersonation

Do not pretend to be another person, a company, a project or CryptoBipto. This includes choosing a name or a handle that is meant to make members think you are someone else.

Spam, promotion and solicitation

Do not post spam, advertisements or repeated filler. Do not post links only to draw members to another site, and do not take part in coordinated promotion of a coin, a project or a person.

Do not use BipTown to ask members for money or crypto, to sell to them, or to move them into a private group or another site where you would ask for either.

If you, or a project you are part of, could benefit from a post, say so. This includes sponsorships, project affiliations and material compensation. The post form in the web app and in the iPhone app has a box for describing the relationship.

Harassment and abuse

Treat other members with respect. Do not harass, threaten or abuse anyone, and do not post hate speech.

Private information

Never share account secrets or another member’s private details. This includes passwords, login codes, home addresses and phone numbers.

Content that is not allowed

Keep posts about crypto, markets, finance or what you are learning. A post with no connection to those subjects can be refused.

These are also not allowed in a post, a reply or a live chat message:

  • Sexual or explicit content.
  • Offensive language.
  • Content that is illegal or dangerous.

How to report a post

In the web app and in the iPhone app, you can report a post or a reply. In the iPhone app you can also report a live chat message. You choose the reason that fits best:

  • Spam
  • Scam or fraud
  • Harassment or abuse
  • Illegal or dangerous
  • Something else

A member can report each item once. In both apps you can also block a member, so that neither of you sees the other’s posts, or mute a member, so that you stop seeing theirs.

You can also write to help@cryptobipto.com with a link to the post and a sentence that says what is wrong.

How moderation works

Posts, replies and live chat messages are checked automatically when they are sent. A check can refuse a message, with a short note that says why, or keep it from other members. The checks do not catch everything, which is why reports matter.

When several different members report the same post, reply or message, it is hidden from other members automatically.

Room moderators review the reports for their room. They are members who have been given that role, and they can dismiss a report or hide the content. CryptoBipto’s own team can review any report, including a report on a post that belongs to no room, and keeps authority over the whole platform.

What can happen to an account

CryptoBipto may remove content that breaks these rules. CryptoBipto may also limit what a member can post, suspend a member’s access to BipTown, or end a member’s account. CryptoBipto decides which of these steps fits what happened.

Your use of CryptoBipto is also covered by the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer.
