Safety and scams
Learn to recognize common cryptocurrency scams.
See the messages, websites and offers scammers use, shown as they appear, and check a suspicious message or website address for warning signs. Remove personal information first, and never enter a seed phrase, private key, password or verification code.

Overview
01
Check a suspicious message
Paste a suspicious message, link or address. The checker lists the warning signs it found and suggests a safer next step. It can miss a scam or flag something harmless, so a result is not a guarantee that a message, link or service is safe. When the live check is unavailable, a simpler check runs on your device.

The Red Flag Library shows the five patterns scammers reuse most, each with a real example and the warning sign to look for.

What is included
03
You can report a scam post
In The Block, in the iPhone app, report a post as a scam. It is hidden once enough people report it, and a human moderator reviews it.

Questions
I think I have already been scammed. What now?
Stop sending any more money or crypto. Secure the affected accounts through their official websites or apps, contact the providers involved, and report what happened. Never give your keys or seed phrase to anyone who offers to recover your money. You can also paste the message into the checker to see which warning signs it shows.
Is this only for beginners?
No. The patterns are the same at every level; only the amounts change.
Does the checker work offline?
When the live check is unavailable, the app runs an on-device check for the most common patterns.
Start at the level that suits you and learn at your own pace.
