Volume is how much of an asset changed hands during a period, drawn as bars beneath the chart.
It is worth taking seriously for one reason that separates it from everything else in this course: it is not derived from price. RSI, MACD, moving averages and Bollinger Bands are all arithmetic on the same closes. Volume is a different measurement entirely.
