Arthur Hayes Predicts Bitcoin at $1,000,000 — Fueled by 'AI Rescue Liquidity.' Here's What He Actually Means

49d ago · 1 source

BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes has laid out a thesis that massive government liquidity injections aimed at rescuing or supporting the AI industry could ultimately drive Bitcoin's price to $1 million. Hayes argues that the scale of money printing required to fund AI infrastructure and bail out related sectors would debase fiat currencies and push capital into hard assets like Bitcoin.

WHY IT MATTERS

Imagine the government decides it absolutely must win the AI race and starts printing huge amounts of money to fund it — similar to how countries printed money during COVID. When governments create lots of new dollars, each dollar becomes worth a little less (like adding water to juice — it dilutes the value). Bitcoin, on the other hand, has a fixed supply — there will only ever be 21 million of them. So Hayes is arguing that if trillions of new dollars chase a limited amount of Bitcoin, the price could skyrocket. Think of Bitcoin like beachfront property: they're not making any more of it, so when there's a flood of new money in the system, scarce assets tend to go up in price.
