Grayscale Files for a Worldcoin ETF — Here's Why WLD Just Jumped 8%
2d ago · 1 source
Worldcoin's WLD token surged 8% after Grayscale, one of the largest crypto asset managers, filed for an ETF tied to the token. The filing signals growing institutional interest in altcoins beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, and could pave the way for broader mainstream access to WLD.
WHY IT MATTERS
Think of an ETF like a wrapper that lets people invest in something — like a stock or a cryptocurrency — through their regular brokerage account, without having to buy the actual asset directly. Grayscale, one of the biggest crypto investment companies, just filed paperwork to create one of these wrappers for Worldcoin's WLD token. This matters because it could open the door for a lot more money to flow into WLD from investors who wouldn't normally buy crypto on an exchange. It's similar to how Bitcoin ETFs made it much easier for everyday investors and big institutions to invest in Bitcoin. However, just because Grayscale filed doesn't mean it's approved — regulators still have to give the green light, which can be a long and uncertain process.
